Ara & Liya's Wedding! January 22, 2011

David and I were very thankful that we were BOTH able to go home and celebrate with Ara & Liya as they were married.  God blessed our trip and even allowed David to fly out of Boston in the midst of a snow storm when many other flights were canceled.

The Great Blizzard of January 12th

On Wednesday, David and I both got to enjoy snow days because a blizzard came through Boston!  Once the snow stopped falling we enjoyed going out to explore.  I've never seen the roads in Cambridge with so little traffic!

Looking outside first thing in the morning.

Cross-country skiing in the street!

The view from the window.

In front of the apartment.

Our street.

The windshield wiper on the back collected quite a bit of snow...

The buried car!!

Windshield cover...it did some good!

I suppose you still have to walk the dog?

Throwing snowballs.

It took us over an hour to dig out of that...so we went and bought a full-sized snow shovel!

Our apartment - with a large icicle hanging down from the air conditioner.

Parking signs.

Cambridge Common

Making a snow angel.

The mostly-frozen Charles River.

That was a really heavy chunk of snow!

Snow!!!

We got our first snow "storm" in Boston after having missed the big blizzard that happened while we were in California.  I'm still a little bit skeptical about living in the snow...

Getting ready to go outside

I'm a little bit more bundled than David is.

With our poor car who is wondering what happened to California winters :)

Christmas 2010

We were very thankful to be able to go home to California for Christmas and New Year's.  We had a wonderful, refreshing time visiting with family and friends.
