Head of the Charles!

On Saturday there was the annual "Head of the Charles" crew race on the Charles River, which is between Boston and Cambridge.  So we walked down to check it out with two couples from church.

David, in the crowd.  They had lots of booths set up to give away free samples of different products (background).

David and me with the free sample of Dunkin Donuts pumpkin spice latte :)

More of the crowd...

New friends - Laura, in the middle and Elika, on the right.

In Search of Fall Colors

David and I figured that since we are living in New England during the fall, we had to see some real Fall Colors.  So this weekend we went in search of them...

These were the first beautiful leaves we found - right outside our apartment :)

Getting ready to go!

On I-90, which runs East to West across Massachusetts.

Colors!  They looked much more vibrant in person...

There is a town called "Spencer" about an hour to the West of us so we decided to go find it.  It was a little bit remote...

It was a little bit overcast, but still beautiful!

LOTS of leaves on the ground.

There was a pretty man-made waterfall.

Hope Fellowship

Below are Rachel and me at the church we attend in Cambridge - Hope Fellowship.

David and me at church.

This past weekend, David and I had the privilege of attending a retreat with Hope Fellowship at Grotonwood Camp, about an hour north of us.

Here is "All Church Capture the Flag."

It didn't take David very long to end up in jail :)  But his team won in the end!

I opted for the sidelines so I could take pictures and talk to some of the ladies.  I was also playing with this 18-month-old, Sarah ("Saarah").

David was very tired when the game ended.

After lunch on Saturday, we walked down to the lake nearby.

It was very pretty - only signs of fall colors, unfortunately!

I made the "mistake" of wearing my burnt orange TEXAS sweatshirt.  So everyone thought we were from Texas and now they know about David & Sarah :)

Our little cabin.  Nice and toasty, thankfully, because the overnight low was 33 degrees!!

The "girls'" room.  They only had twin beds, so they split up four married couples in our cabin.  Mine is the one in the front on the bottom.

Playing "Mafia" with friends.  I opted out of this round after David was part of the "Mafia" and killed me the first round :)

Sarah was playing with an iPad and observing.

The Boston skyline on our way home - we had a great weekend!!

Apple Picking

On Saturday we went apple picking with small group from the Law School Christian Fellowship.
It was at a place called Parlee Farms, about 50 minutes north of us in Massachusetts.

Walking to the apple orchard.

David picking the apples we couldn't reach :)

Our friend, Meghan, taste-testing.

Me picking apples.

All our apples (we split them with 4 other people :)

They also had pumpkins.

And a petting zoo.
